Coachella | April 18, 2014

Weekend 2 of Coachella was something different, that’s for sure. The band was joined by Billie Joe Armstrong, playing in at times for Paul, who spent part of the show either stretched out or sitting on a couch on stage. Paul walked out with a cane and was dealing with back problems, which have cropped up and affected other shows as far back (no pun) as 193.

Billie Joe also appeared to have donned Paul’s outfit for the night. He and the other band members wore matching (and hep) checked suits, while Paul wore green pants, jacket and t-shirt. Here is the opening number, “I Will Dare”. Paul says “We’re the world’s greatest Replacements cover band, we are The Cements”:
