The Mats opened the Back By Popular Demand tour in predictably unpredictable fashion by playing “Seen Your Video” behind the curtain. And they posted a video of it on Facebook, shot from backstage.

And here’s the opening from the audience’s perspective, posted by BridgetC:

Bridget also posted a video of “The Ledge”:

This happened during “Androgynous”:

Thanks to YouTuber CloudyAlways, there’s also a great video of “Androgynous”.

Gaze upon the set list and weep because you were not there:

The set list as reported on Setlist.FM diverges from the planned list, per usual. No “Green Acres”! But a medley of “20th Century Boy”/”Bang a Gong (Get It On)”/”All Shook Down”, with Dave on lead vocals for “Bang A Gong”. And plenty of other surprises like Paul doing a few songs solo acoustic to start the encore, including “Ghost on the Canvas”. Thanks to Dave B. for a little color commentary on the set:

20th Century Boy (with Dave Minehan on lead vocals), Bang a Gong and All Shook Down were played as a medley. Treatment Bound had the following lyrics: “The label wanted a hit, and I’m still working on it” and “Yesterday’s trash, too fucking old to thrash.” Paul sang “Androgynous” from the tent. Paul congratulated the Minnesota Twins for finally scoring a run. There was a snippet of “Maybeline” between “The Ledge and “Tommy Gets his Tonsils Out” and a snippet of “Iron Man” after “Kissin’ In Action.” “Lollipop” is the Millie Small song “My Boy Lollipop.” “If Only You Were Lonely” was a request and abandoned after the opening verse/chorus. “Ghost on a Canvas” segued into Leonard Cohen’s “Suzanne”

Josh’s drum features a picture of Isaac and Judy Landers from “The Love Boat”. Paul’s t-shirt looks like he may have painted it himself. As he said in a 2008 interview with Uncut: “Whenever I start altering garments, look out, ’cos I’m getting ready to rock”.
